Get a Good Sleep in The Night
Nowadays, in our busy life more and more people are having different sleep disorders including kids. The most common sleeping problem is insomnia or the inability to fall asleep. Yes, there are people that have sleepless night at one point of their life because of tension, worry, or other problems, but that is not insomnia. Insomnia is when you have found yourself unable to sleep for several nights in a row. The loss of sleep affects you both physically and mentally. If you have not enough sleep you cannot be as productive as normal, so it reduces your performance in your day to day activities. It makes your mood grumpy and irritated. Even the smallest things can annoy you, which results in a lot of personal and social problems. You may don`t know but insomnia has got three categories: 1. Initial insomnia- When you need at least 30 minutes to fell asleep. 2. Middle insomnia: Here you have problems falling asleep the whole night. 3. Late or Terminal insomnia: You sleep less than 6 hours and after that you cannot fell asleep. There are a lot of medical problems that cause insomnia. Because of that fact, it will be best to visit your doctor about the different treatments of the insomnia. But sometimes it is not caused by medical reason, and then it is very difficult to get into a state of relaxation needed for sleep. Then it will be best to take a warm bath, or get a message. Another option is to drink warm milk or herbal tea, because they can also help you to relax. Also your bed should be comfortable for you. That means that you should have your sleep in a well ventilated room and on a good firm bed. It is also important to keep the lights off and don`t have any illuminated substance near your bed, like TV or personal computer. Easy Weight Loss for You
Weight Loss Diet fitness Weight Loss If you want your weight loss plan to be successful, make sure that it is balanced. Create a plan that consists of two main parts (diet and exercise) and you are on the right way. Many women and men try to lose weight in our days. Many of these people don’t get to the weight loss targets they set. Possible causes are: unrealistic weight targets, choosing the wrong weight loss pill(s) or ignoring the possibility of consulting diet experts. So how can you make your dieting journey a success? First things first, try to set weight targets that make sense. If it took you years to add up all the extra pounds, you can’t expect to shed off all the excess lbs in a couple of months. One thing lots of people forget while creating a diet and fitness plan is to consult health professionals. A few examples: a doctor, a dietitian and more. That kind of experts should got tons of knowledge and experience, use the advices that you get from them. When creating a weight loss plan you need to include the two basic parts: balanced nutrition and effective exercise. When you have a balanced weight loss plan that includes diet and exercise you can consider using a weight loss pill to ease things up. It is important to choose the right weight loss pill if you choose to give a try to weight loss pills. It is important to include both fitness and diet sub plans in your weight loss plan. Avoid making the mistake of creating a plan that doesn’t include both parts. Both of the sub plans are very important for your weight loss success. Your diet plan should be balanced and include the entire variety of nutrients. Make sure not to remove a nutrient from the diet completely as the human body needs all nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, to function as it should. Remember that there is no extreme diet that is healthier than a balanced diet. For many overweight people on a weight loss plan, the fitness part of the weight loss plan is what makes them lose less weight than they would want to. If you want to make the exercise part of your plan a success, make sure that it is balanced and include some rest too. If exercise bores you, try to find new ideas that are both fun and effective for your fitness plan. Think about different types of sport you like and try to check if you know any people that play in any of them close to your home. Found some? great!, try to join the fun. One of the greatest ideas for people that get bored of ordinary fitness plans is video games that involve exercising. Wii Fit, EyeToy games, Dance Fest and more can help you both enjoy a game and exercise at the same time. You can make a progress with your weight loss while playing super fun games, isn’t it awesome? We still need to discuss the last part that you can add if you need to. There are many types of weight loss pills that you can choose from, many of those are sold over the counter. You can find good products online. What should you pay special attention to when looking for a diet pill? You need the product to be effective and you want to use the product without worrying about negative treatment effects. Sustainable energy challenge spurs SME interest
Europe’s environmental SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) are doing their bit to develop sustainable energy technologies, as CORDIS News learnt at a session devoted to SME research at the EU Sustainable Energy Week on 11 February. Kicking off the session, Bernd Reichert, Head of the Research and SMEs unit at the European Commission’s Research Directorate-General, noted that his department was seeing increasing numbers of projects in the energy field. One of the projects featured at the session was PROBIO (‘Production of biogas and fertilisers out of wood and straw’), funded under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The initiative for this project came from an SME with an idea for a device that could turn substances, such as straw and wood, into biogas and fertiliser pellets. The PROBIO project developed a working prototype that the SME is using and refining. Patents covering some of the innovations generated by the project are also being prepared. Although the PROBIO project ended over two years ago, the partners are still in touch and working together on further initiatives. Another project highlighted during the workshop was the FP6 project NODESZELOSS (‘Novel device to study pulp suspensions’ behaviour in order to move towards zero energy losses in papermaking’). As Leon Joore of project partner Millvision explained, energy is one of the highest costs for paper mills. ‘When you make paper, you have to pump the pulp through pipes,’ he said, noting that there are hundreds of pumps in one mill. The fibres in the paper have a tendency to flock together, reducing the flow rate in the pipes. The viscosity of the pulp (and so the energy needed to pump it around the system) varies from one paper type to another, yet before the NODESZELOSS project came along, there were no devices that were able to accurately measure pulp viscosity. The project partners developed such a device, effectively fuelling our understanding of how paper pulp flows and how adding different substances to the pulp affects the flow. This knowledge will help the paper industry improve the design of its pipes and pumps, and so drastically reduce its energy use. Meanwhile, the project partners are improving the device with the aim of commercialising it. As its name suggests, the aim of the DeSol (‘Low-cost low-energy technology to desalinate water into potable water’) project, which drew to a close last year, was to develop a low-energy desalinisation system. The most innovative feature of the prototype developed by the partners is that it utilises the height difference between the device’s water columns; this generates the vacuum needed to lower the boiling point of the water in the device (at lower pressures, water’s boiling point drops considerably). The small amount of energy needed to operate the system comes from a solar panel. The partners are now looking for funding to refine their device and bring it to the market. Rounding off the session, moderator Jos Beurskens of ECN Wind Energy in the Netherlands commented that the presentations had enhanced his view that ‘SMEs are a major engine of innovation’. Two science and technology agreements signed in Brussels
On 30 November, the European Community (EC) signed technology cooperation agreements with Japan and Jordan that will help identify common research priorities and areas of common interest, such as energy, sustainable development and environment. Mechanisms will also be put in place to enable wider science and technology (S&T) cooperation. The agreement with Japan provides for reciprocal participation in research programmes, exchange of researchers, and coordinated calls for proposals. The Jordanian agreement places emphasis on opening a new chapter of scientific cooperation between the EC and this important partner in the European Union’s neighbourhood policy. The agreements are a further step in the new strategy for international cooperation in S&T launched by the Commission in 2008. This strategy identifies two key areas: – strengthening the international dimension of the European Research Area (ERA) by closely involving Europe’s neighbours with the ERA and fostering strategic cooperation with key third countries; – improving the framework conditions for international S&T cooperation by building global research infrastructures, increasing researcher mobility, opening research programmes, promoting intellectual property issues, and ensuring reciprocity, equitable treatment, and mutual benefits. Of the agreement with Japan, EU Commissioner for Science and Research, Janez Potocnik, said, ‘This agreement between the EC and Japan opens a new chapter in the history of science and research cooperation between two of the main knowledge providers in the world in a new era of international global cooperation in research. We face common challenges and we should address them together for our planet, for our people and for our future. It also represents one step further in the opening of the European Research Area to the world.’ The European Community and Japan agreed earlier this year on deeper collaboration in the field of energy research, when a new joint rolling-action plan was launched. This includes an enhanced exchange of information, scientists, managers and reviewers, as well as more joint workshops on specifically agreed sub-topics. Regular follow-up meetings will be held to assess progress, with the next event planned in Europe before the end of 2009. Jordan has become the fifth Mediterranean Partner Country to sign an S&T cooperation agreement with the EC (the other four being Egypt, Israel, Morocco and Tunisia). Jordan has identified energy, sustainable development, health and agriculture as priorities for international cooperation in research. Under the agreement, a joint EC-Jordan Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation will be created and will meet regularly. It will help identify common research priorities and put in place the necessary tools for cooperation (e.g. reciprocal participation in research programmes, exchange of researchers, coordinated calls for proposals, etc.). Both agreements will come into force when the respective ratification procedures are completed, which should be in the course of 2010. Read also http://www.lito.spb.ru/out.php?url=highbpmed.com
